Frequently Asked Questions

How does the telephone guidance process work?

See Guidance.

How does the fee structure work?

When you sign up for Clear Ambition, you are purchasing access to our web tools for 3, 6, or 12 months and a predetermined number of 1-to-1 career guidance hours. Select the appropriate group for current packages and pricing details: students, parents, job seekers, career changers, re-entering the workforce, or considering semi-retirement. Once you have completed our 6 step program and your web access is nearing termination, we offer an Annual Re-enrollment Option to continue your 24/7 access to Clear Ambition's planning tools for a nominal fee.

Is there a guarantee or refund policy?

Yes. If you are dissatisfied with our program for any reason, we will provide a refund. See our Satisfaction Guarantee.

What are the qualifications of Clear Ambition's Career Consultants?

Each of our career consultants has a Masters Degree, and has at least five years experience in career guidance. In addition to verifying our consultants' qualifications, we conduct a formal background check on each before they are selected to join the Clear Ambition team.

How reliable are Clear Ambition's online assessments and exploration tools?

To ensure the effectiveness of our online tools, we have partnered with Career Dimensions, Inc., a pioneer in the career and education planning field. Their career and education planning tools are among the most widely used in the USA and draw from the most comprehensive occupational and educational information database available. Career Dimensions' family of systems are a byproduct of a program originally developed 30 years ago by a team of the nation's foremost career development educators and theorists including Dr. Donald Super, Dr. Roger Myers, Dr. David Tiedeman, Dr. David Campbell, and Dr. Frank Minor. The tools used by Clear Ambition comply with standards established by the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the U.S. Department of Labor. For more detailed information click here.

Is my personal data kept confidential and is the web site secure?

Yes, all of your results and personal information are kept completely confidential. Clear Ambition and our partner Career Dimensions use 128-bit SSL encryption in combination with user self-created passwords to protect the privacy and integrity of your information. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

Can I sign-up for access to the self-assessment and planning tools without the 1-to-1 guidance?

Not initially. We believe that there is tremendous value to the insight and constructive feedback provided by a trained career consultant. As such, we have purposefully designed our program so you cannot sign-up for access to Clear Ambition's web tools without first having completed Clear Ambition's full 6 Step program which includes 1-to-1 guidance. If you wish to extend your subscription to the web tools without additional guidance, you may do so for a nominal fee.

Why do I have to allow pop-ups?

Most web browsers today cannot distinguish between a helpful window and a pop-up ad. By enabling pop-ups within the Clear Ambition website, you are instructing your browser to move smoothly from window to window. Because this change is specific to our website, it will not invite pop-up ads and is not risky for your computer.

How long does it take to complete the self-assessments?

Each of the four self-assessments takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Do I have to complete all 4 self-assessments?

No, but we highly recommend it. Trying to identify a meaningful life direction without first knowing yourself is like trying to plan a road trip without knowing your starting point. Each self-assessment is designed to help you unlock and discover different aspects of what makes you unique and special. Understanding your interests, values, skills, and personality is the key to finding a fulfilling direction.

If I get interrupted while taking an assessment, can I save my information and come back to it?

Absolutely. After starting an assessment, users may stop at any point and finish it later. Your data will be saved for you until the next time you log in.

Can I print my assessment results and other data from my portfolio?

Yes.

How long will I have access to the web tools and my personal portfolio?

Clear Ambition memberships are purchased in 3, 6, and 12 month increments. At the end of your membership period, you will have the ability to extend your access to the web tools for another 12 months for a nominal fee. You can access your portfolio as often as you like while you have an active Clear Ambition subscription.

What if I forget my user name or password?

In the Sign In box located in the upper right corner of each page, select "Forgot?" next to User Name or Password and then follow the instructions. Our automated password retrieval system will mail your user name or password to the email address you listed when you registered.

If I use up all my allotted 1-on-1 guidance time, may I schedule more?

Yes. You may purchase additional sessions by logging in and clicking the Purchase Additional Guidance Sessions button indicating that you would like to be contacted about additional sessions.

If I don't use all my 1-on-1 guidance time before my subscription runs out, may I still use it?

No. Both you and your consultant need to have access to your web portfolio to hold effective guidance sessions. Therefore, it is important to schedule your 1-on-1 guidance sessions before your subscription expires.

Is telephone guidance effective?

Data shows that in career guidance and planning, telephone guidance lends itself to greater depth and focus in a shorter period of time than in-person sessions. In addition, telephone guidance offers a tremendous advantage of convenience for the user.

After I have completed the program once, when should I go through the full program again?

Once you have gone through Clear Ambition's entire 6 Step program, your life stage will determine how frequently you should re-take the assessments or sign-up for further 1-to-1 career guidance. If you are a student, it may be helpful to re-take the assessments every 1-2 years as your interests, skills, and values are still developing. In contrast, if you are in mid-career, you may find the need to re-take the assessments and have more guidance only when you anticipate a major change in circumstances.
